Things look great in Nikki's life right now. She has a good relationship with her newly found family, store is going great with best friend, and things are great with boyfriend, or at least they are until the forces that be decide to step in and screw with her life.

A petty grudge throws Nikki's life in turmoil leaving her to deal with Joe and his perceived notion that she has little sympathy for what he deals with in his patients, while he puts up with her crazy ghost stuff all the time.

Nikki knows someone is messing with her life, however she can't seem to convince anyone other than her sister. With her help over the phone they figure out what is going on. She confronts the bad guy and is told she will have to face helping someone or keep Joe, she can't have both. This really throws Nikki and she turns for support to a very unlikely source causing more trouble.

In the end Nikki realizes that she does have more people rooting for her than she realizes and takes comfort in that.
