I expected a good read since I liked The Red Tent so much. At first I thought that it would be very depressing and almost quit. But, surprise! I got caught up in the characters--women who traveled to Israel from Nazi Europe in 1945, having escaped the Holocaust. They are a Polish Zionist, a Parisian beauty, a hidden Dutch Jew and a concentration camp survivor, most under 20 years of age.
The book ended and I wanted to know more.
