As a transplanted Oriental, adopted by American parents, with a father imprisoned for his nationwide cons, San Lee begins 8th grade in January in Pennsylvania in sandals. No way can he blend in with the other eighth graders, so he becomes a wise Buddhist, a Zen Master. Cute coming of age story.
