The timeline was a bit confusing, especially since I listened to it on audiobook, but it was a beautifully written and moving story. It's very true to the way a woman's life was expected to go back in those days (and kind of even the way it is still), and how those who wanted more than that were treated.

The narrator, Hope Davis, did a great job. I loved her in the movies Next Stop Wonderland and The Myth of Fingerprints, so it was a nice surprise to recognize her voice when I started listening to this.
