This little book took less than 45 minutes to knock out. I'm an Ender's Game fan, so it had my immediate interest when I spotted it.

The primary action of the book takes place at Battle School, and Ender Wiggin does play a key part, but the book is really more about a kid named Zeck who's hated more than the norm by the other kids. It takes Ender to figure it out and deal with it. The rest is a fun rebellion on the part of the kids against the rules that forbid things like celebrating Christmas.

If you've never read any of the Ender books, this really isn't a great place to start. The book with come across as anemic, and things like Battle School and the Formics will be rather meaningless.

For fans, this is a nice addition to the canon.
