This is a good book for middle school students, well mostly girls who want to read about a well-adjusted girl who happens to be overweight and how she deals with that. I like that Celeste has two parents and a brother, it's an intact family and they clearly love and care about her although they are concerned about her weight. The biggest concern about her weight is how other people treat her including kids at school who are really horrible to her.
