If you can believe this, I read this for the first time. My son had to read it for a required book in his high school English class, so I usually like to try and read what he is reading so that I can have some insight as to what they are making him read. I like to try and figure out why they would want him to read it.
First off, I have to say that the books that are written in today's times are much diffrent than the books written back in the 30's. There are many more details, for example, when George was explaining to Lenny about the little house there were going to get, I could actually picture all of that.
I loved hearing this in audio book because for me it just made the story more real, and I would love to have seen this acted out.
I haven't had a book that has moved me in awhile and this really seemed to. I would recommend anyone who hasn't read it should.
