Highly-emotional story of a 13-year-old dealing with HIV and mourning her mother's death to the same illness. Made me cry just a little. Emmy's slew of feelings as she grieves and tries to make sense of her own life is very tangible.

I wonder if the ending was just a little too perfect - Emmy's relationship with her dad and stepmother changed from strained to perfectly amiable and cooperative seemingly overnight, with no stops in the middle. I go back and forth as to whether it was too much, but either way I didn't think it was enough to really and truly bother me.
