This is one of my most absolute favorite books ever, and in my opinion, DiCamillo's best work to date. This book is so touching, and really tugs at your heart. It has a beautiful message, and every year I'm astounded at how my students are affected by the journey Edward Tulane takes.

I've read this book at least 5 times now and each time it gets better. I didn't even know it was possible for a book to do that. I'm usually the read-it-once-and-then-put-it-away kind of girl.

I'd advise not to listen to the negative reviews about how the subject is to hard/harsh on younger readers. I think that by sheltering our youth to the realities of the world and not allowing them recieve a beautiful message the living life without love is not truly living at all is a shame.
