Inherent Vice
by Thomas Pynchon
by Thomas Pynchon
I would have given it 3.5, although I immensely enjoyed it. The writing was light and simple, and it is a reasonable length. More importantly, I do like Pynchon's vision for how America got to where it is, and the way he crafts extremely sympathetic main characters to get you there. But you don't even know they're sympathetic for a while. I wondered if he thinks of himself as like Doc?
