This continues Satrapi's story from childhood. Her parents wanting a better life for their child, send her to Austria when she is fourteen to continue her education at a French school. This follows up through adulthood and her time at the University in Tehran. One of my favorite (awful) scenes from the book: Satrapi is running to catch a bus and is stopped by the guardians because when she runs they can see the movement of her bottom. It's ridiculous but tragic situations like this that make me crazy. Reading it will make you grateful for the freedoms we often take for granted. It was interesting to read a graphic novel. Once again, not for children.
