This Boys Life is written by Tobias Wolff. This book portraits the life of a young boy, Tobias but changes his name to Jack, who goes through many tough times in his life. His mom is always going in and out of abusive relationships and he is constantly getting in trouble. He moves from place to place to escape the relationships and so his mom can find a good paying job and that can put Jack through school. Jack is not the most fortunate boy you will ever see but he is given the opportunity by the end of the book to attend a top boarding school in Seattle. Jack is somewhat nervous about going to the school because he doesn't want to leave his mother with Dwayne, who is the new abusive boyfriend. His mom was going to marry him but she decided to go and leave him so she could be closer to Jack when he goes to the school. Before this opportunity Jack's aunt and uncle, who live in Paris, were wiling to have Jack's mom send him to Paris with them and they would be able to send him to school there. JAck and his mom are both worried about being apart for so long so they decided to stay together. By the end of the book Jack is off at the school with some of his friends and his mom is living in Seattle close by to Jack.
