Tessa is a woman with a past, a past full of questions, mystery and tragedy. "The Secret of Everything" is about Tessa exploring her past, delving into mysteries that she didn't know existed and finding ways to be a stronger and better woman because of it.

I loved this book. The included recipes were amazing and added so much to the book. I loved the characters; I loved the story; I loved where the author chose to take us. The writing was very descriptive, at times, which brought us, the readers, into the story even more. You could feel the air and see the mountains or river or whatever surroundings currently being described. Tessa's love of the arts, of nature and of humanity was refreshing.

The reasons that I gave this book 4 stars instead of five are simple and few.
1. Dogs - lots and lots about dogs. Now if you are a dog lover this is fine, and I don't have anything against dogs I just don't love them and it was a bit much reading about them every page (Remind me never to read "Marly and Me" for this very reason)
2. Some things happened very abruptly i.e. romance, change in story line, characters getting over their anger and I found it to be er.... abrupt.

Overall, I highly recommend this book. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. I am very excited that I was able to read an advance copy. Thank you first reads.
