One of Jane Austen's earlier novels, but published after her death, Northanger Abbey has always appealed to me, perhaps because there is more of the sparkle and energy of youth and high spirits in it. It is the tale of a young woman's introduction to the world, and both the good and the bad things that go on in it. In this, I find I have a very close connection to it. Perhaps, in time, I may come to like some of Austen's later novels more; but at my time of life Northanger Abbey appeals to me with its charm and energy.
