Read in October, 2009

A quick and flawlessly constructed read, this is a cautionary tale from a writer wise enough to invest even the most basic of life's lessons with original insight. Doesn't have the sprawling feel of Roth's most cited novels, but that sacrifice of ambition more than pays for itself in candor and elegance.
