I've decided that this is a perfect example of the 'journey' plot structure. And it works so, so good! I'm not saying it's a perfect book, perfect writing, characters, etc. But it comes close.

Listening to on cd...I think it's even better than the first time I read 10 years ago.

Such a simple, sweet story of honesty, courage, honor, hard work and dedication.

I read this to my children when they were 7 and 6 yrs. old. Wow...it blew me away.

A very quick read, as it's aimed at the upper elementary and older crowd. But the beauty of the story, the lessons learned and the pride conveyed by doing a job well done...Wow. This book stayed with me long after I read it.
