did not like it

I really did not like this book. I tried my hardest to keep reading about the Tillerman family but it was just so bland and boring, I had to put it down and start up a new novel.

I do wonder what happened to the children in the end though. Their mother leaves them in the car at a shopping centre car park and doesn't come back, so the kids lead by the eldest girl travel by foot to a distant relative's house they've never met before at the chance they'll be taken in and cared for properly. The kids don't enjoy the time spent with a nun-like woman so they move on.

A lot of the book is made of the kids trying to find places to sleep and eat. TBH, if this was me I would notify the police straight away to get myself out this situation and hopefully the right thing would be done - moving us into a relatives house.
