really liked it

I'm not a huge fan of Crumb or Kafka. Crumb's style is interesting but the underground "comix" subject matter of his earlier work especially always struck me as rather puerile. But after enjoying the work he did for Harvey Pekar I decided to give him another chance. This slender volume of Kafka, a kind of graphic biography, is well worth the read, not only for Crumb's illustrations but also for the way it neatly limns Kafka's personal life and literary career, deftly interweaving the two. Thanks to this book, I wound up finding a new appreciation for an author I'd been overlooking for quite some time.
