** spoiler alert ** This book is very nice and also sad. If you read this book be sure you have a tissue because you are going to cry. I learned from this book that when things are hard and you face obstacles like Gabriela faced in the book you have to move on but you also have to consider your family.
This is probably the best historical fiction book ihave ever read!!
The Book "treegirl" is about a girl named gabriela who loves to climb trees but one day finds her home the pueblo burned down by the lartino soldiers with all her family inside it. No one survived but she finds her little sister hidig in the woods when she was about to escape.
They both escape to go find a refuge but before they get there they pass a pueblo being klilled by soldiers too and gabriela and her sister get separated. Gabriela finds the refuge on her own and there she has to work to get food and there is very little space. She doesnt share with anybody her food because she thinks life is unfair. She never stops looking for her sister. As time passes more people come to the shelter and one day a woman with a baby and a little girl arrive. Gabriela is so happy to see her sister again. Since she was a school teacher she decides to make a chool in the shelter os that kids like her little sister have an education. Her sister does not talk sice she separated from her so in the end when gabriela is happy they both go into the woods and her sister climbs a tree and asks gabriela to climb higher and its the first time she talked.
