I had originally "bid" on this book when it came up for giveaway on Goodreads First Reads because I am a big fan of the works of Jane Austen, but was not fortunate to win a copy of the book. It was OK.

I picked up a copy of the book the other day and devoured it within two days.

The main character, Ellie Barnett, is handed a copy of "Pride and Prejudice" during sophomore English class and soon finds the ghost of Jane Austen has tagged along as well. Jane's advice guides Ellie through the trials and tribulations of high school, as well, as her relationships (both family and romantic that were, at times, quite painful) into adulthood. Jane's opinion of Sam Blaine (Ellie's high school crush/nemesis) never changes though. In her opinion, he will always be like Mr. Wickham (the scoundrel from P&P).

During the course of the book, Ellie learns some hard lessons about love, trusting herself and also about "not judging a book by its cover".
