This book actually did strengthen my faith. And it goes far to correct for some of the strange excesses of American popular "Christianity" which I have to admit takes over my mind and drives a wedge between me and the rational wholeness of the Christian tradition.

He does have a couple of peculiar ideas about the foundations of evil that I can't really get behind, and I think he involves himself in some speculation (some speculation he identifies as such, but some of his core ideas are speculation as well), but it surely can be no worse than what Fundamentalism and popular Christianity presents and I think is far better (see "strengthen my faith").
