what the body remembers follows the paths of two sikh women married to the same man during the turmoil surrounding the creation of pakistan. it's cool because it's history from a perspective not normally considered when one thinks of general indian history in the 20th century--hindu, muslim and gandhi. it got a little muddy for me toward the end when the author tried to blend a message about life for women in india with a message about pakistan. but overall it was good.
