I didn't know C.S. Lewis had written sci-fi until I found a box set of his Space Trilogy at a flea market (from the 70s with trippy cover art no less!) and decided to pick it up. This second book in the trilogy is 214 pages, only 54 pages longer than the first book in the series ("Out of the Silent Planet"), yet it felt so much longer. The book started off strong and interesting, but got rather boring in the middle. The whole middle section of the book was just drawn out for too long; it began to feel redundant like it was going over the same ideas/thoughts/concepts again and again and again. The story picked up the excitement towards the end with a fight/chase sequence, but I found the actual ending rather tedious to read and a bit of a let-down after the suspenseful high of the fight/chase bits.
