Mr Cussler is getting pretty formulaic. Dirk Pitt, derring undersea adventurer, saves a beautiful and brilliant girl from certain death as the book opens, and later finds that another mystery/peril has come up and-guess what-- she's involved in that as well. In between there is a car chase in an antique auto (best part of the book so far). At the end I'm sure he will save the world from the re-establishment of the Nazi empire, but I'm not sure I have the patience or interest to wait it out.

The book keeps you turning pages, Cussler is good at action, but there aren't any surprises on the next page. A great book for a long airplane flight where if your brain is so jet lagged that you don't remember what you read it's no great loss.
