This little book (it's a very quick read) examines the career of Alex, a parrot in a behavioral research study for 31 years. This is not a scientifically-dense book, but rather it's an endearing collection of anecdotes. Alex and Dr. Pepperberg's research accomplished outstanding feats - birds can add! Alex invented his own words - and amazed the scientific community. I adore books about animal behavior, but I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a charming and downright amazing animal story.
