What would you do if you found a book that would kill who evers name was written in it? Yagami Light decides to create a new world, killing criminals who corrupt and poison the world. This starts the epic battle between the two geniuses, Light, and the world's best detective 'L'. Careful not to reveal his name to 'Kira', the name given to the murderer killing criminals, the battle wages between L and the Kira.

While this manga is action packed, the battles are more psychological mind games than physical battles, with Kira bordering on social pathical in his unfeeling murder of criminals and his desire to bring about a better world.

The manga is incredibly disturbing, but a very intellectual and a fascinating read. All the characters are fully developed, the plot is fantastic.
