Wanting to read more about ancient Egypt, I picked this old book up. The author's name sounded familiar. He should, having won the Nobel Prize for literature and being a blue-blood Belgian socialist. The book, however, was a disappointment, being mostly his aesthetic effusions about ancient Egyptian art and architecture.
