This was a free kindle book and it was just okay. The book read somewhat like the Lord of the Rings trilogy where the author changed the person telling the story every chapter or so. There were lots of characters; some I liked and some that were rather flat. I thought Anne Dare (the youngest princess who I am sure is supposed to save the day in future books)was developing nicely. She's a spoiled brat that is getting her come-uppance along the way which is a nice change from the spoiled brat always having everything go right for them. I didn't think the "villans" (the Briar King and Gryffen) of the story were very evil or scary for the build up they were given. I kept thinking that they were actually going to be "good" and save the day in the end (maybe they still will). It was a confusing story to follow and I don't think that I will read the next books in the series.
