Fictional diary of an English country woman burdened with a taciturn husband, two kids, a French governess, tiresome neighbors, and the mundane details of trying to run a household on not quite enough money. Sounds like it would be dreary, but her voice is witty, wise, and remarkably relevant to modern women despite it's 1931 publication date. I'm looking forward to reading another in the series.
