This book devotes full pages to pictures, which I love. The medium they use looks like oil paint. They are drawn in a 3rd dimension style, which gives them a realistic feel, and the color is what gives the book meaning. The light in the pictures is something that the little girl covets. So around her is usually dark, and it is only in places she can't go such as inside or only in her dreams with the match does she get to be in the light. The textures are very soft focused and glossy but still shows layers with the snow falling.
