My first assumption of this book was that it was a novel with a robot as the first-person narrator. Instead, it was a collection of short stories held together by a series of interviews by a first-person reporter of unknown species (though I have no reason to believe he's anything but human). Once I got past the initial re-adjustment over the book's nature, I thoroughly enjoyed its content. The stories were all well-crafted, well-thought-out, and imaginative. They delved into the awkwardness and conundrums that could arise from the societal positions of robots in the future. Good, provocative reading here. Very good reader on my version, as well. The last story had conversations with leaders of various "regions" on Earth, including an African male, an East-European female, a Chinese male, and a male working in Ottowa who sounded Irish (which was plausible, given the geographic scope of his region).
