MOVING and POWERFUL. Those are the words that pop immediately into my head when I think about this book and the story it told. Historical Fiction has proven, over and over again, to be a favorite with the Book Club and I think this one would fall right in line with that. I am, admittedly, not a history buff, so when I can get a history lesson in such an enjoyable fashion, I'll take it everytime. Don't get me wrong, this book is not all roses and smiles; in fact, it's rather alarming. But it certainly opens up my eyes to that time frame of WWII and the Holocaust, and more tragically, the specific reality of what happened in France during the timeframe of this book.

This book may very well become my selection for our Book Club.

(I added this to an Amazon.com order so I could get free shipping. We'll see how this random choice goes.)
