The lies and deceit took center stage in this story. Pales in comparison to the Amazon-GoodReads tale from late March 2013 though. To get to the truth and sift through the facts, look no further than my review here: http://bit.ly/Z23RcL

Peregrine " . . . a cast of characters making a mad dash toward malignancy . . ." Yes! That's what I found the most off-putting about this book, among others such as you have mentioned.

Shellie (Layers of Thought) Very nice Jon...lol.
My mom used to say that the use of bad language was an excuse for a poor vocabulary. As a kid we just laughed and repeated the bad word... now as an adult I entirely agree.
I'm thinking this may go to the out pile.

Jackie Thanks for this review, I was considering Lies, and now I won't bother. The things I dislike in a novel are the same you mentioned. Thanks for saving me from wasting my time.

Shellie (Layers of Thought) Thanks for the update for Mooching the book Jon. I do need to set up my account there a bit better.

Mark Ok, so you want the characters in the book to swear unrealistically. I love unrealistic characters.

Of course, this review is written by a guy who said, "I felt compelled to finish the story, vainly pursuing relevant truth through the morass of deception." You are obviously the person to judge whether a book is written well or not.

Hope my sarcasm is clear, because I'm laying it on pretty thick.

Jon BTW, I'm NOT a guy.

Reviews are subjective, mine especially for me.
