This is my first read by Lorna Landvik and I enjoyed it. Being a big fan of smalltown America stories, I thought this book was entertaining & funny & sad, and I enjoyed the quirky & likeable characters very much. I especially loved Avel's character, and I was so sad that he didn't have a longer run in this story, but my-oh-my, for the time he was present in the Dobbins Sisters' life, his star shone! I loved his attitude. (Same can be said about Harriet at the end of the story.)
I would have given it a 4 star if the author had given the main characters a little bit more depth, but I'm surely not complaining: it was a very good read.
