bookshelves: science-fiction-and-fantasy, mythology
Read in January, 2002

I read this because of a referral by friends to the myths of Alderly Edge. From what I understand, Mr. Garner lives (or lived) near the area.
I live to the north of Alderly Edge (Far north, in North Manchester) and used to visit it frequently, and it IS as eerie as the book suggests. But, it's even more lovely than it gives credit for.

I liked this book, and if you're a fan of the area, go read it and the other two books.

Ancestral Gael Mr Garner lives and recently featured on a BBC programme wherein he took the presenter on a walk on the area around which he wrote the books.
