858080 While the tragic premise of the dying comatose sister is very McDaniel-esque, protagonist Nat still rings true as a quirky, real teen dealing with family crisis in various conventional and unconventional ways. A refreshing, modern take on a corny YA-novel standard. (PS I listened to the audio book version of this and enjoyed the narration, too.)
