This book had moments of absolute greatness in it. However, it also had hundreds of pages of people just driving around in rovers around Mars that seemed to go on forever. I loved the hard sci-fi elements, and the inexorable march of time through the book.

It definitely has made me wonder how colonizing Mars will go, and whether we it is inevitable that there will be strife in the process. I probably will end up finishing the trilogy, and I do recommend this book, I just wish the pace were a little quicker.
