Abailart Crystal clear, lace-delicate: gentle irony sets a scene, a small stage of actors and scripts with the voice behind the irony gently suggesting a world beyond the small world. The small world (ours too) is epitomised by a Felix, cheerful and blissfully shallow, for whom all seems cheerful and bright too since everything is judged against his own little centred self incapable of even considering an alternative set of values. A certain class of reader is also gently ribbed by the conventional register. The outer text is as crystal clear and lace-delicate as a provincial soul's amusement could wish for.
