This story is so interesting! As I read each page I was in awe that someone actually did this. The first thing that blew me away was when I read that they carried a four hundred and forty pound reel of cable up one hundred and eighty stairs, the next thing was that it took them three hours to pull the cable tight between the towers. The biggest surprise though was when Philippe laid down on the wire. The illustrations help paint the picture of what is happening throughout the book so the event feels real. The real life story of Philippe Petit is amazing to hear about and this book does a great job of portraying this fascinating history. I feel the audience for this book extends beyond young readers. It has an awe factor that I think can hook the interest of readers up to middle school as well.
