Amazing! If you have ever struggled with the question of what it means to be a Christian artist, then you should read this book. L'Engle delves into the topic of what it means to be a creative person and a Christian. Read it slowly and savor it, re-read it and ponder it. Buy a copy of your own because you are going to want it.

This is my thrid time reading this book- I keep it handy and read it whenever I feel the need to focus on why I write and create. L'Engle's writing is beautiful and elegant and cuts straight to the heart of her subject matter.

“Aeschylus writes, "In our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grade of God.”
