This book was riveting. Krakauer is a craftsman. I particularly like the way he explores the personality of young men like Chris McCandless, explorers, adventurers, outlaws. In a story that had a lot of publicity, he was able to offer a fresh perspective as well as some wonderful insight via fine investigative journalism regarding why Chris died. I'm read to read Into Thin Air next.

Jana Greatttttt book!!! I had to see the movie after the book. The ending that Jon writes is very enlightening. Sad but wonderful.

Patricia I didn't know there was a movie. I can't usually see a movie right after I read a book. Want to hold my own images for a while. A few years later, I can often enjoy the movie.
