really liked it
bookshelves: wwii, christian-fiction, romance, first-reads, books-i-own
Read in December, 2009

I won a First Reads copy, to my delight.
This was a thrilling ride, with a great historical balance. It makes one think about the blessings we have and the bravery of people in the past...and if we have any, ourselves. Pretty much the only things I didn't like were the couple of times I thought it sounded as if they were using the Lord's name in vain/swearing (one time in German), and some of the intimate gestures (though nothing explicit--just out of place).
Read this a second time in September, 2014. Here's my second review of it. ;)
This is an exciting read, with characters you come to care about. Full of history and action, and a bit of romance. There are a couple of swear words/using the Lord's name in vain (one in German).

If you like WWII movies or novels, this is one to add to your list. It includes escape attempts, undercover work, and in the air action. Some violence.
