When I finished this book I started crying, and I'm not entirely sure why. Perhaps because of the atrocities of the world, but also the fact that there is power in friendship and some people truly touch your life. At any rate Anita Diamant wrote another wonderful book about the displaced Jews following WWII. They weren't wanted in Europe and many tried to travel to Israel only to face immigration restrictions and be put in another camp. This book is a story about coming to terms with their survival and what comes next.
