The third installment of Percy Jackson & the Olympians just gets better and better. I was on the edge of my seat for much of the book, trying to figure out how it was all going to fall into place! I loved the new characters that were introduced in this book such as Zoe Nightshade. Thalia is given a better introduction than her abrupt appearance at the end of book two, but her relationship with Percy isn't given much explanation to begin with. I was slightly jarred by her sudden inclusion at the novel's outset, but quickly adjusted as I saw the nature of her relationship with Percy take a competitive edge.

This book felt slightly more intricate that the first two novels, and I enjoyed it immensely. By the novel's end, I felt the need to pick up book 4 and get reading!
