Just finished reading a galley of this book. I have been mulling it over for a few days to really gauge how I feel about it. I am still not sure. So gripping in the beginning. You literally cannot put it down. The middle and end lost me a bit. But I find myself days later still thinking about it. Ferris is definitely a talented and unique writer. I recommend this book to everyone because I want to discuss it with as many people as possible. It does not release until January of 2010. But if you get your hands on an advance and have a chance to read it. Let me know. Let's discuss. But be prepared. It will leave you a bit raw, confused, and sad.
You can sum it up as a story of a family with a member who is trying to cope with an unexplained & undiagnosed illness. How does a family survive intact when the medical world and the everyday world that they live in cannot explain or understand this mystery?

Monika I also wasn't sure what to think while I read the galley. It was gripping at first but then I didn't find it fulfilling in the end. I guess I was waiting for a more surprising plot twist.
