Griffin does an incredible job of telling her story in a humorous but informative way. For fans of Suddenly Susan and My Life on the D-List, most of the narrative will feel familiar yet the stories and relationships are not. An encouraging book at times, OBCS has all of the things you would expect from Griffin (celebrity dirt, profanity and imitations of her mother) as well as insight into her personal battles and victories. Hearing about her struggles with eating problems was eye-opening, as was the openness about her past relationships and the reasons they failed.

I really do recommend this book. It is not your generic rags-to-riches celebrity story (is anything about Kathy Griffin generic?) and it will encourage and inspire some, while making the rest laugh along with her.
