One of my strong students from MVHS last spring read and liked this book. I'd also heard about it in a review. So I listened to it on book on tape -- with Jim Dale as the reader! I adore Jim Dale: he's the reader of the Harry Potter books, too, and so talented in his creation of character voices that he has been awarded ten Audie Awards for his talent in performing audio books.

I also adored Dave Barry while in high school, laughing aloud each time I read his Sunday column. My mom continued to send me his columns through college, and even while I was overseas in Eastern Europe. The Slovakians thought I was a nut-case, laughing aloud on the bus as I read the columns she sent.

So this book was a delight. It was well-read, funny, and full of adventure. I really liked the brave and dignified Molly Astor, and loved the impetuous Peter. I'm eager to listen to the sequels on book-on-tape, too!
