One of the best books I've ever read. Funny, sad, perfect. You fall in love with each character and feel as if you know them all personally. The very end, just preceding Arthur's death, is the most poignant. Arthur's meditations on war very relevant. Many lessons learned throughout the book on a wide range of subjects: war, how God created humans, love, intrigue, desperation, etc.

And no, this genre of book is not typically my favorite, but, I must say, this has become one of if not the favorite book I have ever read. Fabulous.
