Well, I finally finished it!

Carmody has a tendency to use said adverbs all the time and she doesn't seem to put any commas in the logical places. I sort of got a feel for who Elspeth was, but not completely. Sometimes I felt like she was given a hard time just to prove that she wasn't a Sue, and the novel was a little episodic, but it wasn't too bad and it was one of those books that I could really get inside with little effort. I don't think I'll read it again, though.

I'll definitely read the next book in the series. It's sure to get better.
