My first experience with Amy Tan was an amazing one. I did not expect to get so caught up in the story of the three women this book devotes itself to, but I did. I fell in love with the passion of Precious Auntie, the quirkiness of LuLing and the struggling Ruth - and the author did not fail to deliver a happy, resolved ending.

Overall a wonderful story. It was involved, well laid out, the anecdotes were interesting and provided needed depth. Very much recommended.
